About to enter into a new reality...

Do what thou wilt.

The world is always changing.

"the world" is its people, it is us. Every individual has a part to play in the Life experience. Other living things play along too.

Humans have the beautiful faculty of self-awareness. We can look at ourselves, see our own circumstances, change them, and change ourselves to fit them. Animals and plants do not do this. They make alterations in their own lives and their environments by instinct, but they're always completely immersed in the flow of life. They can't dissociate and observe from outside, like people can... sometimes to a fault.

This is how Change occurs: we invent something completely unique and original in our imaginations. Sometimes it comes as a flash from the unknown. Sometimes it is laboriously constructed and loved, like the blueprints for a house. Using our powers of thought and the energy of our emotions, we take action and make that imaginary vision come true. It's amazing.

If you were to make a time lapse movie of the process of human creating, and speed up what it looks like, you would literally see things pop into existance out of nowhere, all around yourself!

This creative process happens on a very deep level all the time, not just with "artists". Advertising goes right to that level and implants images for you to then make manifest. Advertising makes you remember something (thought) and desire it (emotion) so that you then go and purchase it (action), upon which act it becomes real to you in your life.

Sneakers, cars, air conditioning, electric dishwashing machines, breakfast cereal, vacations, skinny tummies, etc.

IF YOU ARE NOT USING YOUR OWN IMAGINATION, SOMEBODY ELSE IS!!!

It's true. That's why they put commercials for toothpaste on late-night TV... the images sit there in your brain overnight and sneak-attack you in the morning as you're waking up. There is a whole science to this in the marketing world, a methodical approach to making you do things you otherwise wouldn't do. This makes someone else a nice profit, by the way.

You can take another path, called DO IT YOURSELF. Inspiration is volatile, good ideas zap you but require immediate attention if they are to flourish. That's what this blog is for, to remind me and anyone who reads it of these two things:

1) we are being bombarded constantly with external manipulative images and,

2) it's much more fun to contribute something positive and original to the world around you.

Give it a shot! Anything you can do that comes from you is better than a store-bought packaged product. Take a look around you. The world of commerce makes the best packaging we've ever seen, but is there an equal substance and quality contained within the wrapper?
