President Klaus makes sense but ugly

Do what thou wilt.

"Klaus objected that to really decrease carbon dioxide emissions, the countries would have to "either stop the economic growth and thus block further rise in the standard of living, or stop the population growth, or make miracles with the emissions intensity."

I was happy to see him presenting these three undeniable arguments. To restate:

1.Economic growth takes energy; power plants are major contributors to emissions. The transportation industry (on which economic growth equally depends) generates another massive chunk of the emissions total. Changing either one will wreck up the economy.

2.Population growth compounds the above situation with an insatiable thirst for energy and transportation.

3.Current technology can only improve so much on the basic chemical reaction of burning things to create this energy; emissions aren't going to get better until we're using completely different energy sources.

Of course with these arguments he tacitly admits that there IS an environmental problem. Where he gets unpopular is in saying that the problem isn't as immediate as the "climate alarmists" would have one believe.

Why would he say this? Answer: because to take action on any of these three areas is even more politically unpopular than to say that "the environment is fine leave me alone."

Think about it -- Who's in a position not to heat their house because they don't like the gas industry, or coal? We're not going back to firewood to heat cities.

Who has time to farm and grow their own organic produce instead of buying something that was delivered by truck? We're not going back to donkey carts to move our supplies around countries.

Who, (besides these guys: Viktor Schauberger, Joseph Newman, Stanley Meyer) is out there inventing free energy systems to supply us with the energy we need for a high standard of living without sacrifice?

And of course, who is jumping at the chance to give up the #1 all-time world favorite pastime of makin' bacon? Maybe the ČR has a negative birth rate but globally we're [ADMIN: PROFANITY DELETED] like bunnies in the carrot patch after Farmer McGregor gets strung up. Not to mention that mass murder is still illegal, immoral, unethical and messy in general. Tender situation!

SO, President Klaus is actually supporting what people want. Modern definition of progress demands that he do it that way. Modern thought sees no further than the next 25 years. No problem!

To put this baby to bed and move on:

Fact #4: we all live in the same place. ( Planet earth you've heard of it.) Sure, we've been to the moon and sent radio probes to other planets to see what there is to see. But for practical estimates, in our lifetimes nobody's going anywhere.

With the communication abilities we have now, we are finally poised to perceive ourselves as one giant global community with zero boundaries. It's totally possible, it just requires a little effort.

If you like this idea, start looking for answers to the above three problems. There are some answers out there. Implementing them will require a fundamental shift in thinking and behavior but don't let anyone tell you it can't happen.

See you on the autobahn, darlings!

Love is the law, love under will.
